I have a "complex cyst" on my thyroid and the thyroid is enlarged. I had an ultrasound 6 months ago and another ultimate week. The doctor says the cyst is bigger than it was 6 months ago so he is sending me to an ear, antenna and throat specialist. My thyroid bloodwork has all be normal so far. I am just curious as to what the subsequent step might be. My doctor is sending me for more bloodwork to send the results to the specialist. The lump is big enough that I can grain it and it makes me choke on liquids sometimes. Otherwise, I'm fine. The theory of knives and needles near my throat really grosses me out. If you own been through this or know anything more about it, please share! Thanks!

I have multiple nodules in my thyroid so I understand your concern. Since the cyst have enlarged I suspect the specialist is going to want a biopsy of the nodule to rule out cancer. I had a biopsy done on 4 separate nodules, all of which come back non-cancerous. My blood work came out usual too so I choose to do nothing until the hormone levels changed. I developed a goiter which be visible but I too could feel it when I would swallow food or wear a turtle d¨Ścolletage top. Eventually I became hyperthyroid and it was settled to have the entire thyroid removed due to an increasing number of nodules. The surgery went smoothly and today I clutch synthroid to replace the hormones the thyroid would have made. I feel great!
Yes. A lump vehicle that you have thyroid cancer or something even worse. It is very irregular and hard to cure. You can not live without your thyroid also, so they can not remove the undamaged thing. either mode your screwed
