Hi! I'm 12 weeks and 1 day pregnant today! :) I have elevated TH level on my Thyroid blood test, so my OB/GYN wanted me to enjoy an evaluation with an endocronololgist. Simple enough, right? WRONG! Haha, adjectives of the doctors that i called won't treat me because i am pregnant. They consider that high-risk. What to do? Anyone else have this problem? And also, i be wondering if I waited until the baby be born to get treatment, instead of taking any medication for the elevated thyroid, would that be more dangerous to hang around until after when i can actually take the right medication short possibly harming my baby??

your referring to an elevated TSH right? do you know what yours be? a normal ref range for tsh is 0.350-5.500 anything lower consequently 0.350 is hyper and anything over 5.500 is hypo thyroid. so if yours is elevated i assume it is hypo thyroid. you need to get treatment presently. being hypo or hyper thyroid during pregnancy can harm the infant. there is safe medication you can take during pregnancy to get your tsh into mundane range. you may have to see a big risk obgyn that deals with illnesses and pregnancy. name your obgyn and let them know the endos won't see you. and maybe she can refer you to somebody who will. you deffently want to get treatment for this now. please don't keep on.
