would like to know if anyone has taken one, have one done,,what it was you do,,,and how much they cost?
Answers:
Usually involves running on a treadmill while wired up to a monitor. Depending on the type of oral exam, they may also measure your oxygen/carbon dioxide levels when breathing in/out.
The cost vary according to the hospital and medical plan. Without insurance, the test plus the evaluation of the results will cost from $2000 up.
you mean a stress echo check? i had one and its where they do an reverberate, which is like an ultrasound, then you wander on a tread mill for about ten minutes to get your heartrate up, afterwards they do another echo while the heart is racing. its to find out if you can pedal strenuous and stressful situations. its not painful. at all. mine cost almost 1000 bucks but i went to a doc that was expensive
I have have one . I can't tell you what they cost because it's all base on your insurance coverage.
What they do is have you stand on a treadmill , then they hook you up to an electrocardiogram-EKG- and a blood pressure monitor
They turn on the tool at a slow walking pace then incrementally increase the speed and/or angle of the treadmill to see how your heart handle the additional stress. They will then manoeuvre how long it takes your heart to recover from that stress. Hopefully you will be up to a hurry when they turn the treadmill off.
Wear seneakers and loose comfortable shorts. Your doctor will go over everything else.
polite luck.
IT DEPENDS ON YOUR CARDIOLOGIST AS TO HOW MUCH THEY COST YOU CAN CALL AND ASK HIS NURSE FOR THAT INFORMATION. 1ST THEY SHAVE YOUR CHEST AND HOOK UP ELECTRODES LIKE ON AN EKG MACHINE AND THEY HAVE YOU WALK ON A TREADMILL FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND MONITOR YOUR HEART ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I HOPE THIS HELPS
