A child next to insomnia?

my 3 1/2 year old daughter has a really not easy time going to sleep. She doesn't throw temper tantrums she just can't appear to relax enough to go to sleep at hours of darkness. I have tried elimnating naps, reading, relaxing music, etc, but she literally take hours to fall asleep. I put her to bed about 8:30 and she lies awake until after 1 most night. She also will wake up in between. Her doctor said although it isn't adjectives, some children do suffer from insomnia. It's starting to affect her behavior I feel too since she's tired all daylight long. Has anybody else gone through this and if so, what did you do? Any ideas or shared experiences would be appreciated! Thank you!
Answers:
yes. be through it. son and daughter's families have be through it - and I fear probably many others, but for most other's, have also. It is trying and anxiety making. I guess you could try putting her to bed earlier - voice 7! and have a nice peaceful 'quiet time' next to her before hand - a cuddle and a story - or cbeebies on telly - perchance she could tell you a story? - could be diet too - chocolate or whatever e numbers stimulate her. it is worth checking out on these. Good luck. You without doubt aren't alone.
One of my 31/2 year old twins doesn't go to sleep at bedtime.. I've tried everything. Now, they walk to bed at 9-30-ish (Anywhere between 9 and 10) and almost always she'll lay there for a while and later come on out of her room. She'll just sit. Sometimes she'll ask for tv, or a book, but mostly she just like to be close. I've given up trying to get her over it at this point.. I'll tackle the issue again if I want to when she starts school. A friend of mine had like peas in a pod issue with his 3 year old as resourcefully. She's 6 now and all is economically. He just let her work it out herself.
i have an 11 year ancient who take meds or ADHD so it sometimes affects his sleep patterns. We make available him Melatonin, we buy it at GNC. Our bodies naturally produce this but some people only don't produce enough. Check with your doctor first but it does aid. Give it to her about a half hour in the past bedtime, it comes in a pill that can go lower than her tongue and dissolves. Good Luck
Wear her out before hand! I haven't gone through it, but I do enjoy a sister that age who has experienced it. Take her to the YMCA, gym, ect that gets her really influential and physical about two hours before bedtime.
