I agree that addiction could be a downside. Depends also if you are talking about prescription or OTC. I am suffering from insomnia and only went to the dr today. I don't feel similar to I need something "permanent", but something to help me break the cycle of staying up adjectives night and oversleeping in the morning. He suggested 1 or 2 Benadryl, and if that doesn't work he give me a prescription for Restoril (genreic Temazepam). I plan on using it for just a short time to gain me back on track!
