I have had my own problems near insomnia. It would be pretty clear to yourself if you were suffering from insomnia... you would not be sleeping.
However here are some "symptoms" that I have experienced associated to my past periods of insomnia.
1. unyielding to concentrate.
2. decrease in apatite.
3. headache.
4. depression/moodieness
5. if it gets bad plenty, hallucinations.
