Skin whitening and blocking sun sunburn?

I usually burn rather than tan, and I much prefer the light and interesting look anyway. How do you block getting a sun tan, I've been using factor 60, but later apparently that doesn't stop the tan, just the burning. I also hear about skin whitening products, what are they like and do you know any brands that work?

while you're taking a shower scrub you're together body hard with a washcloth. that take off any tan you've get if you do it continually. i would know. i've done it.
