Hi There,
Hair re-growth minus a transplantation surgery is possible but likely. Or rather, it's more difficult to do effectively. Aside from restoration surgery your best option to regrow lost hair are Propecia and Rogaine (or Minoxidil). Propecia is proven to prevent your hair from falling out and Rogaine is proven to prevent down from falling out and in some cases - regrow lost hair. That said, Rogaine have to be applied daily and their are some side effects; Propecia on the other hand have a plethora of potential side effects.
I opted for a hair restoration from Bosley pay for in July and couldn't be happier with the results. Myself and another guy (Torrance) blog give or take a few our hair restoration at BattleAgainstBald.com. In addition to showing pictures and video of our spine restoration results we also provide a wealth of information on hair loss and adjectives the other methods used to correct it.
Check out the blog, as I'm sure it will answer all of your questions.

I've hear that rubbing olive oil on your hair stimulates it, but to be honest it's greasy and sort of gross. It help my brothers when they started getting bald patches...
Other than that, you can try drinking better with things that have Omega 3 or Vitamin E, but it may basically be genetic.
