i had my gall bladder taken out when I be 4 months pregnant. I was pretty sore for about a week and couldn't drive or heave anything over 5lbs for about two weeks but in three weeks time i be back to normal pretty much and that's be 5 years ago.
My wife have her gall bladder removed. She was contained by the hospital for 2 1/2 days (2 nights) and then came home. It be very tender for the next few days, so she needed minister to doing anything physical. After that, she began doing very fluffy things and was able to budge out (although not grocery shopping or anything involving lifting -- just to her yarn store and such). One week after surgery, she be doing things pretty much like normal, near only minor pain, except for lifting which be still painful. After two weeks, she was within virtually no pain, and was stern to normal, except for strenuous excercise/work. She says after 3 weeks it be like it had never happen. She had the laproscopic surgery, which you are probably having, since it's planned. Good luck, and wallow in the excuse to take it easy. at lowest easier, for 2-3 weeks.
I had mine out on the 2nd, I be in the hospital 4 days. they made 4 incisions in my stomach and took it out. I have steri-strips not sutures. The first day was for a time hazy from all the drug. The second day, I was much better. I feel like every time I woke up from my nap, I be a little bit better. The big thing is moving. You can't lay on your side, definately not your stomach. Walking wasn't impossible, but take little steps and go slow. Know your constraint! Try to walk atleast twice a day the 2nd daylight and work up from there. By the time I came home I be fine. I had a weight restriction of 20 lbs. I didn't give somebody a lift any pain meds besides Advil when I got home. I didn't necessitate it. i just got release to walk back to work on the 26th. :)
My suggestion to you is make sure you know what your torment management is going to be after the surgery. For those first few days, you will definately need it! Talk to your doctor, if you enjoy problems with some pain medication. I know sometimes Codiene makes people nauseated. You DONT want to throw up, trust me.
And a short time ago to let you know, sometimes after the surgery you will have diarrhea. My doctor said it can ending up to 6 months. I am on stomach medication to reduce the episodes. Hope this helps. Source(s): Personal , nurse
a few hours of surgery. Some staples in your stomach. Usually not too many complications.
Good luck Source(s): Wife have surgery last year.
Yes, In October. It is a massively short operation. First they run a few simple tests, then they narrate you to fast for 12 to 16 hours. Then they take you down for surgery, and they put you to sleep. When you rouse up your stomach will be sore, because they make 4 small incisions. One in the belly button, one on your upper tummy, and two on your right side. You can't drive for two weeks, and you can't walk up steps for a little awhile, and you be aware of like you want to sleep all of the time.
